Indrava Roy, PhD

Indrava Roy, PhD, has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Indrava is currently the Director of Data Science at Garvis since July 2022. Previously, they served as an Assistant Professor (Tenured) at The Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai from May 2016 to June 2022. Indrava also worked as a Freelance Consultant at Electronic Controlled Systems, Inc. in April 2016, where they developed pattern matching algorithms for satellite detection and identification, resulting in a granted US patent.

Prior to that, Indrava was a Visiting Scientist at the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), New Delhi from June 2015 to March 2016. Indrava also worked as a Marie Curie Fellow (INdAM Cofund) at Sapienza Università di Roma from April 2013 to March 2015. Additionally, they served as a Freelance Consultant at Quark Analytics in January and February 2013.

Earlier in their career, Indrava held positions as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Université de Lorraine from August to December 2012, a Leibniz Fellow (postdoctoral position) at MATHEMATISCHES FORSCHUNGSINSTITUT OBERWOLFACH GGMBH from January to July 2012, and a Postdoctoral position at the University of Muenster in April 2012.

Indrava Roy, PhD, has a strong educational background in mathematics and computing. Indrava obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mathematics from both Paderborn University and Universite de Lorraine, completing their studies from 2006 to 2010. Prior to their PhD, they pursued an integrated Master of Science (MSc.) degree in Mathematics and Computing at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, from 2001 to 2006. Indrava'seducation journey began with a Senior High School degree from DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Shyamali, Ranchi, India, which they completed from 1998 to 2000.

In addition to their formal education, Indrava Roy has acquired extra certifications to enhance their skills. Indrava obtained a certification in "Science to Data Science" from Science to Data Science (S2DS) in November 2021. Indrava also completed a Udacity Nanodegree in Deep Learning from Udacity in the same month and year. Earlier, in December 2020, they participated in the IBM Quantum Challenge - Fall 2020 - Intermediate, earning a certification from IBM.
