Matthew Hankel

Matthew Hankel has a diverse work experience spanning across various industries. Matthew has held the position of Chief Technology Officer at Gary Sanitary District since March 2023. Prior to that, they worked at the City of Gary as a System Administrator, where they were responsible for server maintenance, backups, and deployments, as well as implementing and maintaining phone systems and security cameras. Matthew also worked as a Technical Support Specialist at the City of Gary. Additionally, they worked as a Network Engineer at GaryChicago International Airport and as a Broadcast Engineer at Gary Access Network. Matthew also has experience in independent electrical and IT services, Vivint, Aramark at Grace College, Grace College, PRO Hydronic Specialties, LLC, and Kimray, Inc in various roles such as administrator, technician, electrician, and production manager.

Matthew Hankel graduated from Portage Christian School in 2004 with a High School Diploma in General Studies. Matthew then attended DeVry University from 2004 and transferred to Grace College & Seminary in 2011. At Grace College & Seminary, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 2014. During the same period, they also obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from the same institution. In 2013, Matthew briefly studied Information Technology at Ivy Tech Community College. Additionally, they obtained a certification in CJIS Level 4 from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in November 2022.
