Gas Safe Register

Gas Safe Register is the official gas registration body for the United Kingdom, Isle of Man and Guernsey, appointed by the relevant Health and Safety Authority for each area. By law, all gas engineers must be on the Gas Safe Register. There are around 70,000 businesses and over 130,000 gas engineers on the Register. What does Gas Safe Register do? Our primary purpose is to keep people safe from unsafe gas work and raise awareness of gas safety risks, including carbon monoxide poisoning. We do this by: • Maintaining the register of engineers and businesses qualified and competent to work on gas • Inspecting gas work carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers • Investigating reports of work carried out by unregistered illegal gas fitters • Undertaking public awareness campaigns
