Derk Barkema

Derk Barkema is an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in pipeline technology and infrastructure projects. Currently serving as a Pipeline Engineer at N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie since 2008, Derk has held multiple leadership roles, including Lead Engineer for renovation and new construction of measurement and regulation stations. Additionally, Derk has been a Hoofd Brandwacht at Veiligheidsregio Groningen since 2005. Prior experience includes roles such as Maintenance Engineer at NedTrain and various engineering and supervisory positions at Stork, a Fluor Company, from 1994 to 2002, where Derk managed projects related to energy plants and mechanical equipment. Derk holds a Master of Science in Pipeline Technology from Avans+ and has completed additional education in engineering and technology at recognized institutions throughout the Netherlands.
