James Makowka

James Makowka is an experienced professional in the food and beverage industry, currently serving as the Food and Beverage Training and Audit Manager for East Canada at Gateway Casinos and Entertainment Limited since May 2023. Prior to this role, James was the Residence Dining Unit Manager at Western University from September 2022 to May 2023. James's extensive career at Service Inspired Restaurants (SIR Corp.) spanned nearly a decade, during which various managerial positions were held, including General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Service Manager, Bar Manager, Supervisor, and Server. James also gained experience as a Senior Inventory Merchandiser at The Brick from September 2007 to August 2010 and as Delivery Dispatch at Leon's Furniture from December 2006 to September 2007. James holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Hons) in Sociology from York University, obtained between 2009 and 2016.
