Drew Benton's work experience includes various roles in different organizations. In 2003, they founded Refuge Ministries and served as the Founder until 2005. Drew then worked at David Childers Consulting as an Event Sales and Production employee in 2005 and 2006. From 2007 to 2009, they worked as the Urban Nation Director at SafeHouse Outreach. In 2010, they started a design company called Lampso with their brother, where they built websites for various companies until 2013. In 2019, they briefly served as the Orchard Institute Director at Orchard Resources, Inc., assisting non-profit organizations. Also in 2019, they became the Director of Operations at SafeHouse Outreach, overseeing volunteers, facilities, meal services, and emergency homelessness services. Currently, they are the Director of Community Engagement and Volunteer Services at Gateway Center, a position they assumed in May 2022. Throughout their career, Drew has demonstrated a passion for community engagement and helping others find meaningful ways to serve.
Drew Benton attended Reinhardt University from 2001 to 2003, where they earned a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Fine Art. Prior to that, from 2000 to 2001, Benton attended North Greenville University, where the degree they pursued is unknown, but they studied Christian Studies and Fine Art. In 1999 to 2000, Benton attended Savannah College of Art and Design and focused on Fine Art, although it is not specified whether they earned a degree from this institution.
