James Stoops M.ed

James Stoops, M.Ed has a diverse work experience. James started their career in 2001 as a Recreation Program Specialist at the City of Salinas Department of Recreation. James then worked as an Assistant Summer Day Camp Director and Senior Recreation Leader at the City of Monterey Department of Recreation and Community Services from 2003 to 2010. In 2008, they briefly served as a History Teacher at Elk Grove Unified School District.

From 2010 to 2011, Stoops worked as a Graduate Teacher Assistant and Graduate Research Assistant at California State University, Sacramento. In 2013, they became a Founding Board Member of Rising Sun Montessori School.

Since 2013, Stoops has been employed by Gateway Community Charters. James held various roles within the organization, including Independent Study Teacher, Social Science Curriculum Specialist, Enrollment Specialist, and Academic Engagement Specialist. James is currently serving as an Interim Campus Principal.

Additionally, Stoops has been involved in sports and coaching. James served as the Basketball Commissioner for the Sacramento Athletic League since 2016. James also worked as the High School Varsity Boy Basketball Head Coach at Sacramento Academic Vocational Academy, and previously served as an assistant coach for the same team.
