Mike Kopecky

Mike Kopecky has a strong background in network engineering and telecommunications. Mike is currently employed at Gateway Fiber as a Network Engineer. Prior to this, they worked as an Independent Consultant, subcontracting for engineering consulting companies on projects for major telecom companies. Mike'sfocus was on DWDM, ROADM, DSL, and Ethernet design, implementation, and growth.

Before becoming an independent consultant, Mike worked at Verizon Wireless as a Principal Engineer Interconnect. In this role, they were responsible for fiber optic backbone design, including DWDM, ROADM, SONET, and Ethernet solutions. Mike supported all markets and assisted team members with new technologies and deployments. Additionally, they worked with construction companies on OSP design and implementation for fiber plant. Mike also played a role in DRAN and CRAN Fronthaul design using passive CWDM and active CPRI DWDM solutions for BBU/RRU connectivity.

Earlier in their career, Mike held the position of Optical Engineering Manager at Lightcore - CenturyTel. Mike was responsible for managing optical engineering projects during their tenure there.

Mike Kopecky obtained their Associate's degree in Electrical, Electronic and Communications Engineering Technology/Technician from Ranken Technical College from 1986 to 1988.
