Executive Director Of Business Development, Corrections Services at GATEWAY FOUNDATION INC

Alexis Rosales, MPA has a comprehensive and diverse work experience. Starting in 2006 as a Vigo County Head Start Teacher's Assistant/AmeriCorps Intern, they gained valuable experience in teaching and assisting in summer classes. Alexis then moved on to roles in the Indiana Department of Correction, where they served as a Re-Entry Specialist/Substance Abuse Counselor and later as the Director of Case Management. Their responsibilities included case management, program coordination, and overseeing re-entry and addictions services.

In 2012, Alexis joined Mental Health America of Indiana as the Youth & Family Outreach Coordinator at The Emberwood Center. In this role, they provided outpatient substance abuse recovery services and prevention education to youth and their families within community settings.

Returning to the Indiana Department of Correction in 2013, Alexis took on the position of Re-Entry and Addictions Services Monitor and later transitioned to become the Executive Director of Programs and Re-Entry Readiness. In this leadership role, they were responsible for overseeing various programs, including Hoosier Initiative for Re-Entry (HIRE) and Medicaid division. Alexis also collaborated with criminal justice partners and agencies, supervised a team of Re-Entry monitors, and ensured compliance with relevant regulations.

Continuing their career, Alexis joined Gateway Foundation in 2020 as the Executive Director of Business Development, Corrections Services. Here, they are responsible for managing and operating drug and alcohol treatment programs in correctional treatment settings, facilitating substance abuse treatment, and developing new initiatives.

In 2021, Alexis also became a Brand Ambassador for aSweatLife, promoting the brand and engaging with the target audience.

Alexis Rosales, MPA, obtained a Master of Public Affairs degree in Public Management from Indiana University Indianapolis in 2019. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Indiana State University in 2006. Alexis also holds an Associate's degree in Social Work from Danville Area Community College/Danville Junior College, which they completed in 2004. Alexis completed their high school education at Hoopeston Area High School, where they received their HS Diploma in General Studies in 2002. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including Problem Gambling Counselor from the Indiana Problem Gambling Awareness Program, Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) from the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency, Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADAC II) from the Indiana Counselor's Association on Drug & Alcohol Abuse, and Thinking for a Change Facilitator from the National Institute of Corrections. Alexis also completed the Indiana Risk Assessment System through the Indiana Judicial Center/Indiana Department of Correction.
