Gateway Mission
Jay Riemersma has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as Executive Director at Gateway Mission since February 2023. Prior to that, they served as Interim Executive Director at Gateway Mission from December 2022 to February 2023. From 2017 to 2022, they were the Senior Director of Development at the Family Research Council. In 2017, they worked as the Director of Development at Prison Fellowship. From 2010 to 2017, they held the position of Senior Director at the Family Research Council.
Additionally, Jay Riemersma was a candidate for Congress in Michigan's 2nd Congressional District from 2009 to 2010. Jay also served as Regional Director at the Family Research Council from 2007 to 2009. Before transitioning to their career in advocacy and development, they played professional football as a tight end for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2003 to 2005 and for the Buffalo Bills from 1996 to 2003.
Jay Riemersma earned a BA in Communications from the University of Michigan, where they attended from 1991 to 1995.
