Jodie Mlikota

CEO & Co-Founder at Gathar

Jodie Mlikota is the CEO and Co-Founder of Gathar. Jodie has over ten years of experience working in events, sales, marketing, and development. Jodie has a passion for the arts and for helping others, which is what led their to start Gathar.

Jodie started their career in events with Veritas Events in 2008. Jodie then worked for EventsNQ, coordinating food and wine festivals. In 2012, they began working for the JUTE Theatre Company as their Events, Sales, and Marketing Manager. During their time at JUTE, they helped the company grow and reach new audiences.

In 2015, Jodie took a position at CQUniversity as their Marketing Coordinator. Jodie was quickly promoted to Senior Marketing and Engagement Officer. In this role, they oversaw all marketing initiatives for the university. In 2017, they were again promoted to Senior Development Coordinator within the Development and Alumni Relations Directorate.

Jodie’s work at CQUniversity inspired their to start Gathar. Gathar is a social enterprise that helps people access opportunities in the arts. Gathar provides training, mentorship, and financial assistance to artists from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Jodie is committed to making the arts more accessible to everyone. Through Gathar, they are helping to create a more diverse and inclusive arts community.

Jodie Mlikota completed a Graduate Certificate in Social Innovation from CQUniversity. Jodie then went on to study Creative Arts Marketing at Deakin University. Jodie completed their Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and Communications from James Cook University. Jodie also attended Cairns State High School.
