Michael Eggert

Michael Eggert is an experienced medical professional with a robust background in pulmonary and critical care medicine. Currently serving as the Medical Director for the Regional Clinical Program in Pulmonary Hypertension at Sentara Healthcare since August 2002, Michael also focuses on patient care as a Physician in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and co-chairs the Sentara Healthcare Critical Care High Performance Team. In addition, Michael has held the position of Medical Director at Gaumard Scientific Company since January 1995 and served as Chair of the Critical Care Committee from August 2015 to January 2022. Prior to these roles, Michael completed a fellowship and served as Chief Fellow at the University of Alabama at Birmingham from July 1998 to June 2001. Michael earned a BA in Chemistry, cum laude, from Duke University and an MD in Medicine from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine.
