John Muffler

John Muffler, MS, CTM, is a seasoned strategic consultant with extensive experience in safety, security, and threat mitigation. Currently serving as a Senior Advisor at Gavin de Becker & Associates since March 2016, Muffler advises corporate leaders and fosters partnerships by aligning system capabilities with client needs. In addition, Muffler operates as a Strategic Security & Risk Consultant for Aequitas Global Security, LLC, focusing on high-profile clients across diverse sectors. Previous roles include Chief of Global Protective Operations at Kiernan Group Holdings, where Muffler developed an active shooter training course, and Chief Inspector at the United States Marshals Service, overseeing security operations in federal courts and managing a substantial security budget. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Criminal Justice with a terrorism concentration and completion of the Executive Leaders Program at the Naval Postgraduate School.
