Prin Sivalingam has an extensive work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Currently, Prin is a Member of the Board of Directors at MDI Holdings, starting in 2023. Previously, Prin held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Gay Lea Foods, where they were responsible for finance, IT, legal, and risk management, starting in April 2023.
Before joining Gay Lea Foods, Prin served as the Senior Vice President of Finance at Aurora Cannabis Inc. from January 2020 to April 2023. In this role, they had various responsibilities such as investor relations, external reporting, strategic planning, tax, treasury, and shared services. Notably, Prin led a strategic reset that improved the company's annual EBITDA run rate by $300 million.
Prior to their role at Aurora Cannabis, Prin held multiple positions at Weston Foods, including Vice President of Corporate Strategy from January 2018 to December 2019 and Director of Finance for Integrated Supply Chain from January 2016 to December 2017.
Before joining Weston Foods, Prin worked at McCain Foods from October 2012 to December 2015, where they served as the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis. In this role, they led initiatives that resulted in significant profit growth and improved margins for the Canadian business unit. Prin also played a key role in finance support for major activities impacting profit and cash flow.
Prin's career started in 2006 at GE, where they worked as a Financial Analyst. During their time at GE, Prin was recognized for their outstanding contributions to the business, including the implementation of a purchase order system that improved controls.
Overall, Prin Sivalingam has a strong background in finance, strategy, and leadership, with experience in various industries such as food, cannabis, and manufacturing.
Prin Sivalingam completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A) degree in Accounting and Strategy from the Schulich School of Business - York University, which was completed between the years 2002 and 2006. Prin also obtained a CPA, CMA certification from CPA Ontario in the year 2017.
