Álvaro Ortega Sebastián

Prior to their time at Avangrid, Álvaro worked at Iberdrola Renewables as the Deputy Treasury Director. In this role, they served as the primary liaison between the parent company and the finance and treasury departments of Iberdrola Renewables. Álvaro managed treasury-related reporting, directed the financing model, and led cash management activities.

Álvaro's career began at Iberdrola, where they worked as a Bank Relationship Specialist and Foreign Exchange and Investment Analyst. Álvaro monitored financial institutions' portfolios and made recommendations for the distribution of the banking business. Álvaro also tracked the Iberdrola Group's foreign currency positions and executed front office tasks for fund surplus investments and credit line draws.

Prior to that, they earned a Licenciado en Economía degree in Industrial Economics from the Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea from 2002 to 2007. In 2005 and 2006, they also pursued studies in Economics at the University of Lille 1 Sciences and Technology.
