Mikhail Smirnov

Mikhail Smirnov has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and industries. Mikhail began their career at Severstal in 1999, where they served as the Head of Marketing and Trade Policy Group until 2004. Mikhail then joined Severstal North America as the Director of Strategic Planning from 2004 to 2005. Mikhail continued their career at Severstal North America, taking on roles such as Vice President of Finance and Vice President of Purchasing and Logistics from 2005 to 2011.

In 2011, Smirnov joined OMZ as the CEO and simultaneously served as the President of JSC "Cryogenmash" and JSC "Uralhimmash" until 2014. OMZ is the largest Russian heavy machinery building holding company and a leading manufacturer of equipment for various industries. After leaving OMZ, they joined Gazprombank in 2011 as the Vice President.

Smirnov's most recent role is as the CEO of OMZ Engineering since 2018.

Mikhail Smirnov holds a Masters degree in Civil Law from the Moscow State Academy of Law. Mikhail also obtained a Masters degree with Honors in Economics and Industrial Management from the Moscow State University of Management. Mikhail further pursued their education and earned an MBA in International Management from Northumbria University.
