Shane Swanson has an extensive background in the field of cybersecurity and information technology. Shane is currently serving as the Director of Cyber Security at Sun Auto Tire & Service, where they are responsible for ensuring the company's systems and data are secure. Prior to this role, they worked as the IT Security & Compliance Manager at the same company.
Before joining Sun Auto Tire & Service, Shane held various positions in the public and private sectors. Shane served as the Deputy Chief Information Security Officer for the State of Washington and the Texas Department of Information Resources. In these roles, they were responsible for overseeing the security of the state's information systems and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards.
Shane also worked as a Strategic Advisor for Cybersecurity at the North Dakota Information Technology Department (ITD), where they provided guidance and support in cybersecurity matters. Before their time at ITD, they worked as a Specialist Master at Deloitte, where they specialized in cybersecurity consulting.
Shane's career began at ING U.S., where they worked as an IT Security Manager. In this role, they co-developed and managed the company's Security Operations Center and oversaw the administration of host/network intrusion detection/prevention and SEIM tools. Shane also developed and implemented ING's security intelligence program and led the enterprise-wide IT risk assessment team.
In addition to their corporate roles, Shane has experience as an independent consultant. Shane worked for Strategic Security Solutions, where they conducted information security assessments for nonprofit organizations and small-medium sized businesses. Prior to that, they served as a Security Manager at Clifton Gunderson LLP, where they led IT audits and information security assessments for various organizations.
Shane Swanson pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy at Northern Arizona University, which they completed between 1994 and 1998. Later, they attended Utica University from 2010 to 2012, earning a Master of Science degree in Cybersecurity Intelligence & Forensics.
