Andrea Small-Howard, PhD, MBA has an extensive work experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors. Andrea is currently the President of GB Sciences, Inc, a plant-inspired biopharma drug development company. Andrea also holds the position of Chief Science Officer at GB Sciences, Inc and GbS Global Biopharma, Inc. Additionally, they serve as a Board Member at GB Sciences, Inc and the Center for Healthcare Innovation.

Prior to their current roles, Andrea was the Chief Science Officer & Director at GbS Global Biopharma, Inc. Andrea has also served as a Board Member at the Ceremax Investment Corporation and the Center for Healthcare Innovation.

Andrea'sprevious experiences include working as the Vice President of Scientific Oversight at Radient Pharmaceuticals Corporation and as a Director of Research, Development, and Scientific Oversight at AMDL, Inc.

Andrea holds a Master of Business Administration degree from USC Marshall School of Business. Andrea has also worked as a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine and as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The Queen's Medical Center.

Throughout their career, Andrea has demonstrated expertise in drug development, biopharmaceutical research, and scientific oversight. Andrea has a strong background in plant-inspired biotech and a deep understanding of the healthcare innovation sector.

Andrea Small-Howard, PhD, MBA has a diverse education history spanning several years and fields of study. In 1987, they attended Occidental College, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (AB) degree in Biology and Philosophy, graduating in 1991. Following their undergraduate studies, they enrolled at the University of Southern California (USC) and undertook a long academic journey from 1992 to 1998, where they earned their Doctorate (Ph.D.) degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Immunology. After completing their doctoral studies, Andrea pursued further education at USC Marshall School of Business from 2009 to 2011, earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Andrea'sfocus during the MBA program was an Executive MBA, specifically in Class XXV.
