Elfatih Ahmed, MSC, PhD, has extensive work experience in Smart Cities and Cybersecurity. ELFATIH currently holds the position of Group Head of IT at The GBA Group of Companies, starting in May 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as an Information Technology Manager at UKSA International Ltd from May 2021 to May 2022.

From August 2014 to July 2021, Elfatih served as the Head of IT at Dammam Shipyard - Al Blagha Group, where they successfully managed a multicultural and multinational workforce. Their responsibilities included communicating job expectations, monitoring team results, and implementing policies and procedures. ELFATIH also focused on staff recruitment and training, as well as maintaining a safe work environment.

Before that, Elfatih spent three years as an IT Officer at International Ports Services Ltd- Hutchison Ports Saudi Arabia, where they specialized in implementing surveillance and CCTV systems, fire alarm systems, and leading cabling projects. ELFATIH was also responsible for computer network creation and troubleshooting, as well as managing wireless networks.

ELFATIH also served as an IT Engineer at FAT Company from February 2004 to July 2006.

Elfatih Ahmed has an extensive education history in the fields of Cyber Security, Smart cities, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. ELFATIH obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Cyber Security, Smart cities, and IoT from Edinburgh Napier University, where they studied from 2022 to 2025. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Science - MS degree in Advanced Security and Digital Forensics (Cybersecurity) from the same university, studying from 2019 to 2021.

Before pursuing their postgraduate studies, Elfatih earned a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with a specialization in Telecommunications Engineering from Omdurman Islamic University (OIU) between 2016 and 2018. Additionally, they hold a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with honors in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, majoring in Computer Engineering, from the University of Science and Technology. ELFATIH completed their undergraduate studies from 1998 to 2004.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Elfatih Ahmed has also obtained several certifications. ELFATIH is certified as a PRINCE2® Foundation and Practitioner by AXELOS Global Best Practice, which they obtained in July 2020. ELFATIH also holds certifications as a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), and Meru Certified Engineer (MCE) from Cisco and Meru Wireless Networks, respectively.
