Michael Soltys

Michael Soltys is currently working as the Principal Scientist & Director of Cloud Sector at GBL Systems Corporation since April 2021. Prior to this, they served as a Professor and Chair of the Department of Computer Science at California State University-Channel Islands from August 2014. Before that, they worked as an IT Security Consultant at Executek starting from March 2012. From July 2001 to August 2014, Michael was a Professor at McMaster University, focusing on proof complexity and algorithms, as well as networks and security. Michael also worked as a Visiting Professor at the University of California San Diego from July 2012 to December 2012 and as a Visiting Ulam Professor at the University of Colorado Boulder from August 2007 to May 2008.

Michael Soltys obtained their PhD in Computer Science from the University of Toronto, where they studied from 1997 to 2001. In addition to their academic achievements, they have also obtained several certifications in AWS (Amazon Web Services), including AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Security Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, AWS Machine Learning Specialty, and AWS Certified Developer - Associate.
