Rob Real is an international privacy and AI governance practitioner, currently serving as VP - Group DPO and Head of Privacy, Ethics, and AI Governance Group at GCash. With a multidisciplinary background in law, business, and technology, Rob shapes governance strategies for privacy, ethics, and AI within the mobile financial services sector in the Philippines. Previously, Rob held key roles at MERALCO and HealthPlanOne, and served as a Senior Court Attorney in the Office of the Chief Justice. A Michigan Grotius Fellow and recipient of the IAPP Westin Scholar Award, Rob is also a published scholar and professor in various legal disciplines. Additionally, Rob engages in competitive swimming and triathlons, building on a two-decade history as a varsity swimmer.
