Karen Sim

Karen Sim, CPA, CA, MPAcc, currently serves as Manager of Corporate Reporting at GCT Global Container Terminals Inc., a position held since September 2015, along with prior experience as Assistant Corporate Controller. Previously, Karen worked at PwC from September 2011 to August 2015 as a Senior Associate, leading audit teams and managing diverse clients in not-for-profit, public, and private sectors across various industries, with expertise in IFRS and US GAAP. Karen also gained senior audit experience during a short-term assignment in New York City, focusing on real estate private equity funds. Additional roles include UFE Marker for the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and Case Marker for the University of Saskatchewan's MPAcc program. Earlier career experience at Vancity involved workforce management and budget analysis. Karen's educational background includes becoming a Chartered Accountant and earning a Master of Professional Accounting from the University of Saskatchewan, alongside a Diploma in Accounting and a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics from The University of British Columbia.
