Somasree Roychowdhury, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience starting from 2011. Somasree worked as a Project Associate at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, where they worked on optimizing the design of a compact plate-type reformer. Somasree later served as a Teaching Assistant at the same institute, teaching courses like Thermodynamics and Numerical Methods in Thermal Engineering. Somasree continued their research work as a Research Associate and Project Officer on various projects related to Solar Energy Harnessing and Hydrogen Production. Somasree also worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, focusing on research in the field of fuel and combustion. Currently, they are a Lead Engineer at GE Aerospace.

Somasree Roychowdhury, Ph.D. holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Their research focused on Hydrogen Production from Steam Reforming of Ethanol in Micro-reactors, which they conducted from 2013 to 2020. Prior to their Ph.D., they completed their M.S. (by Research) in Mechanical Engineering at the same institution, specializing in the Optimization of Design of Meso-channel Reactor for Steam Reforming of Ethanol from 2012 to 2013. Somasree obtained their B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from KCG College of Technology between 2007 and 2011.
