Charles West has extensive work experience in sourcing and procurement. Charles started their career in 2005 at CEMEX, where they worked as a Procurement Supervisor and later as a National Strategic Negotiator. Charles also underwent a six-month training program at CEMEX's corporate headquarters, gaining exposure to various departments such as Commercial Strategy, Planning/Capex, HR, Logistics, Customer Relations, and Economists.
In 2010, Charles joined GE Energy Connections as a Senior Project Buyer, responsible for sourcing fabricated steel assemblies from lower-cost countries like Mexico and China.
Later in 2010, Charles joined GE Appliances, a Haier company, starting as a Global Commodity Manager and then progressing to Senior Commodity Manager. In these roles, they developed, led, and executed sourcing strategies for various commodities with a global supply base. Charles maximized material cost take out, established strategic directions for cost reduction, and managed sourcing activities.
In 2014, Charles was promoted to Sourcing Director at GE Appliances, where they led a team of commodity buyers and tooling engineers responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies to achieve profitability, quality, and delivery goals.
Overall, Charles West has demonstrated expertise in negotiations, supplier management, supplier quality management, and strategic sourcing across multiple industries.
Charles West holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Eastern Kentucky University.
