Matthew Ward is an accomplished director and creative leader with extensive experience in cinematic and narrative content creation within the gaming and film industries. Currently serving as the Director of the Cinema & Cinematics Group at Gearbox Entertainment since July 2021, Ward oversees the development of visual storytelling for major projects, including BORDERLANDS 4 and HOMEWORLD 3. Prior roles include Cinematic Director at BUNGiE, where Ward directed numerous narrative cinematics for the DESTINY franchise, and founder of Studioward, an independent production company. With a background in pre-visualization and cinematography across various studios, Matthew Ward has developed a robust skill set in directing and managing teams for high-profile animated and live-action projects. Holding a BFA in Film & Computer Animation from the Savannah College of Art and Design, Ward combines artistic vision with technical expertise to deliver compelling visual narratives.
