Cary Bourgeois

SVP, Engineering Division at GEC

Mr. Bourgeois has been employed at GEC for over 30 years. He is the Senior Vice President of the Engineering Division and Vice President of the Infrastructure Department.

GEC has served as Consulting Engineer for the Greater New Orleans Expressway Commission (GNOEC) Lake Pontchartrain Causeway since 1991, performing Program Management and Trust Indenture Services. Mr. Bourgeois has been associated with the project since its inception and has served as Project Manager for over 10 years. In this time GEC has designed and implemented over $200,000,000 in improvements to the GNOEC system. His responsibilities have included: recommendations for operations and maintenance of Lake Pontchartrain Causeway, review of the operating budget, emergency response, inspection and reporting, annual physical condition inspection in accordance with National Bridge Inspection Standards, planning and scheduling of future GNOEC repair and improvement projects, review of Toll Plaza configurations and toll system operation, preparation of construction contract plans, specifications and estimates for various repair and improvement projects, and construction inspection and shop drawing review.

Mr. Bourgeois has experience in Bridge Design, Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges and the design of Intelligent Transportation Systems.

Mr. Bourgeois is a Professional Engineer and is licensed in the states of Louisiana, Florida, and Indiana. He earned his degree in Civil Engineering from Louisiana State University.
