Michael Walther is a coastal engineer with over 40 years of professional experience. He specializes in the planning, design, permitting, and construction of marine structures and the restoration of beaches, barrier islands, and coastal habitat.
Mr. Walther previously served as a board member of the Florida Shore & Beach Preservation Association (FSBPA) and now serves on the board of the American Shore & Beach Preservation Association (ASBPA) and the Coastal Zone Foundation. Mr. Walther is a Diplomate of Coastal Engineering in the Academy of Coastal, Ocean, Port and Navigation Engineers (ACOPNE) and is a recipient of FSBPA’s 1989 Distinguished Service Award and FSBPA’s 2009 Jim Pupura/ T.Y. Chiu Engineering Award.
Mr. Walther is a Professional Engineer registered in the States of Florida, Texas, North Carolina, Louisiana and Alabama. He earned a B.E.S. and M.S. in Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
