Hunt Willard

Hunt Willard is an accomplished geneticist and academic leader with extensive experience in research and health systems. Currently serving as Senior Advisor and Consultant at Genome National since September 2023, Willard has significantly contributed to Geisinger Health System as a member of the Scientific Advisory Board since 2011, including roles as Chair and Associate Chief Scientific Officer. Previous positions include Chief Scientific Officer at Genome Medical, Director of Geisinger National Precision Health, President of The Marine Biological Laboratory, and Founding Director of the Institute for Genome Sciences & Policy at Duke University. Willard’s academic journey began with a Ph.D. in Human Genetics from Yale University, following an A.B. in Biology from Harvard University. Contributions to genomic research and education have been recognized through roles such as HHMI Professor and key involvement in entrepreneurial ventures like Athleticode Inc.
