Robert Cooney, MD, MSMedEd, FACEP, currently serves as the Associate Dean of Faculty Development, Chair of the Geisinger Academy of Educators, Director of Faculty Development, and Program Director of the Emergency Medicine Residency at Geisinger since August 2015. Prior experience includes a Board Member role at the Pennsylvania College of Emergency Physicians from April 2012 to April 2018 and various leadership positions at Conemaugh Health System from July 2008 to July 2015, such as Associate Program Director of Emergency Medicine and Director of Quality and Safety. Additionally, Robert Cooney was Chief Resident at Allegheny General Hospital from 2005 to June 2008 and completed residency training there. Robert Cooney holds a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Thomas Jefferson University, a Master of Education (MEd) in Medical Education from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology from Wilkes University.
