Mari-Ann Meigo Fonseca

Mari-Ann Meigo Fonseca has a diverse range of work experience. Mari-Ann is the Co-founder & COO of Gelatex Technologies, a materials technology startup focused on developing nanofibrous materials for various industries. Mari-Ann played a key role in reducing the cost of nanofibers and expanding their applications. Previously, they also served as the Co-founder & CEO of Gelatex, where they led the development of eco-textiles and high-throughput nanofiber production machinery.

In addition to their entrepreneurial endeavors, Mari-Ann worked as a Business Consultant/Project Manager at Tallinn Business Incubators, providing mentoring, business advice, and project management for emerging entrepreneurs. Mari-Ann was also responsible for grant applications and organizing mentoring sessions and events.

Mari-Ann gained experience as a Product Development Technologist at Solhjell Baltic OÜ and Baltic Intertex OÜ, where they managed sample production and collaborated with designers to find the best technological solutions for garments. Furthermore, they completed internships at Otto Bock Estonia AS, working on improving efficiency and ergonomics, as well as at Dielmar, S.A., and Otto Bock Estonia AS.

Mari-Ann Meigo Fonseca has a diverse education history. Mari-Ann obtained their Master in Business Administration (MBA) degree in Entrepreneurship and Technology Management from the University of Tartu, where they studied from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Technical Design and Technology of Apparel at Tallinn University of Applied Sciences from 2010 to 2014. Additionally, they pursued a field of study in Textile and Fashion Design at Universidade da Beira Interior from 2012 to 2013, although no specific degree was mentioned. Furthermore, they acquired the Leader's Impact Growth Program certification from Miltton New Nordics in April 2023.
