Dmitry Makarenko

Dmitry Makarenko has a diverse work experience in software engineering and leadership roles. Dmitry is currently the Head of Engineering, Platform at Gelato since August 2023. Prior to this, they were a Principal Software Engineer at Gelato from April 2021 to August 2023. Before joining Gelato, Dmitry worked as a Software Development Team Lead at Gelato from August 2019 to April 2021, where they reported to the CTO and led a team of 7 engineers. Dmitry also founded and ran the Go guild and helped run the Architecture guild, while working closely with the Product Owner and driving product-related decisions. Dmitry has expertise in building and integrating company standards for Go Microservices, as well as designing Microservices using Domain Driven Design.

Before their time at Gelato, Dmitry worked as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer at Gelato from January 2019 to August 2019. Prior to that, they worked at Noveo Group as a Senior DevOps Engineer from May 2016 to January 2019, and as a Senior Software Engineer from November 2013 to May 2016.

Dmitry's earlier experience includes working as a Senior Software Engineer at Vsemayki.ru, where they were involved in the development and support of various services and sites. Dmitry also worked as a Software Engineer at Thor Group and FreeDevs.

Dmitry Makarenko received an Engineer's degree in Information Security from Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU) between 2007 and 2012.
