Marija Jovicic

Marija Jovicic has a diverse work experience starting from their role as a Software Engineer at Gelber Group LLC in 2022. In this position, they focused on creating web applications in C# using .NET Core, SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, integrating with existing libraries, maintaining, refactoring, and adding new features to existing applications. Additionally, they tested web applications, provided support, and collaborated with managers, traders, and other users to implement and document application requirements. Marija also conducted research and testing of new C# and UI technologies for improved user experience.

Before joining Gelber Group LLC, Marija worked as a Supplemental Instruction Leader for Data Structures and Discrete Mathematics at DePaul University starting in 2019. Their responsibilities included organizing and conducting weekly course material and exam reviews using active learning strategies. Marija supported over 500 students in 6 courses, especially those with historically high dropout rates. The success of their sessions is evident through the high number of students who strongly agreed that they could directly apply the learned strategies to their classes. Marija also assisted professors during lectures and contributed to a summer task force focused on enhancing the SI program resources.

From 2017 to 2022, Marija served as a Student Athlete at DePaul University Athletics.

In 2020, they gained experience as a Web Development Intern at Institute Mihailo Pupin for a period of two months.

Prior to that, in 2019, Marija worked as an IT Application & Development Intern at Wintrust Financial Corporation for three months.

Marija Jovicic completed their secondary education at Gimnazija Banja Luka from 2013 to 2017. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from DePaul University, which they received in 2021. Currently, Marija is enrolled in DePaul University's Master of Science program in Computer Science, starting in 2020 and expected to complete in 2022.
