Byron Tasseff

Byron Tasseff is an accomplished engineer and scientist with extensive experience in optimization and critical infrastructure modeling. Currently serving as the Head of Optimization Engineering at Powerline since August 2024, Tasseff previously contributed as a Staff Optimization Engineer at Qcells North America, where innovative optimization algorithms for energy storage systems were developed. Tasseff has a significant tenure at Los Alamos National Laboratory, holding roles from Guest Scientist to Scientist, focusing on optimization models for water and gas distribution and emergency response simulations. Academic credentials include a PhD and an MS in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan, alongside a BS in Physics from the University of Northern Iowa.
