Rony Abovitz

Rony Abovitz is an accomplished entrepreneur and technology innovator, currently serving as Founder and CEO of SynthBee, Inc. since February 2022, and Founder and CEO of Sun and Thunder since August 2020. Abovitz holds the position of Strategic Advisor at ForSight Robotics and Senior Advisor at Boston Consulting Group (BCG). As the Founder, President, and CEO of Magic Leap from May 2010 to August 2021, Abovitz played a critical role in developing Cinematic Reality™, a groundbreaking advancement in visual computing. Prior to Magic Leap, Abovitz co-founded MAKO Surgical Corp. in 2004 and held several key roles, including Chief Visionary Advisor, as well as co-founding z-kat, Inc. in 1997. Abovitz earned a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Miami, completing studies there from 1988 to 1996.
