Harry Smeets

Harry Smeets has extensive experience in strategic advisory roles within municipal governance, currently serving as a strategic policy advisor at Gemeente Venlo since May 2006. Smeets has held various leadership positions, including interim head of the Administrative Staff and Director of Regio Venlo. Additionally, Smeets is actively involved as Director of the Audit Chamber in Gemeente Beuningen and serves as Chair of the Audit Chamber in both Gemeente Berg en Dal and Gemeente Overbetuwe. Furthermore, Smeets has a long-standing role in Gemeente Heumen's municipal council and has previously contributed to the G40 partnership of medium-sized cities. A strong educational background in governance and leadership complements a career marked by research initiatives on various public policies.
