Nico Schimmel

Nico Schimmel serves as Wethouder at Gemeente Gooise Meren since December 2018, focusing on housing, transportation, parking, and various regional development projects. In addition to overseeing several local neighborhoods, Nico has a background as an artistic director and owner of De Gooische Muziekschool from 1992 to 2018, along with managing Muziekcentrum Schimmel for aspiring musicians. Nico's extensive musical career includes roles as a trumpeter, conductor, and music educator since 1975, complemented by education from the Sweelinck Conservatorium Amsterdam and community engagement as a volunteer for "Alles met sinterklaas." Additionally, Nico holds the position of conductor for Muziekvereniging Amstelveen.
