Aster van der Wal

Aster van der Wal is a professional with extensive experience in environmental policy and sustainable tourism. Currently serving as a Senior Policy Advisor for Green and Play at Gemeente Gouda since May 2020, Aster focuses on advising and developing policies related to greenery, biodiversity, recreational areas, and animal welfare. In addition, Aster is a board member of JONG GOUD, a network for young civil servants in the municipality of Gouda. Previously, Aster worked as a Regional Manager and Product Manager Europe at Better Places, connecting travelers with local sustainable travel experts, and served as a Travel Consultant and Sales Executive at DE UNA Colombia Tours, specializing in tailored eco-friendly travel experiences in Colombia. Aster's educational background includes a Master of Science in Forest and Nature Conservation and a Bachelor of Science in Tourism, both from Wageningen University & Research, complemented by studies at the Better Tourism Academy.
