Jeroen Machielse RE has a diverse work experience in the field of auditing and information technology.

Jeroen started their career at Deloitte in 2004 as a Senior Assistent in Assurance Services Non Profit. Jeroen worked in this role until January 2006.

In February 2006, Jeroen joined Van Oers Audit as a Senior-assistent in Controlepraktijk. Jeroen worked in this position until December 2007.

Simultaneously, from April 2006 to December 2007, they worked as a Projectleider Digitalisering at Gemeente Bergen op Zoom.

In December 2007, Jeroen joined the City of Rotterdam as a Financial Auditor in Audit Services Rotterdam. Jeroen held this position until July 2011. From July 2011 to August 2016, they served as a Directiecoordinator Financial Reporting.

In September 2016, Jeroen was promoted to the role of Lead Internal Auditor in the department of Financial Audit at the City of Rotterdam. Jeroen held this position until November 2019.

As of December 2019, Jeroen currently works as the Lead Information Technology Internal Auditor at the City of Rotterdam in the department of Financial Audit.

Jeroen Machielse RE has a diverse education history. Jeroen attended Erasmus University Rotterdam from 2016 to 2018, where they studied IT Auditing & Advisory. Prior to that, from 2011 to 2013, they pursued a program in Certified Public Controlling, again at Erasmus University Rotterdam. In their earlier years, from 1998 to 2005, they studied Bedrijfseconomie (Business Economics) at the same university. Jeroen completed their Gymnasium education at Norbertuscollege from 1992 to 1998. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including RE (obtained in 2023) from NOREA, the professional organization of IT auditors, IT Auditing & Advisory (EMITA) from Erasmus School of Accounting & Assurance (obtained in 2019), and Certified Public Controller (CPC) from EICPC (obtained in 2013). In 2013, they also obtained a Master of Public Control (MPC) from Erasmus School of Accounting & Assurance.
