Elisabeth Besseling

Elisabeth Besseling is a seasoned financial policy advisor with extensive experience in municipal governance, currently serving as a Senior Financial Policy Advisor for the Gemeente Schiedam since September 2018. In this role, Elisabeth provides strategic advice on connected parties, oversees budget amendment processes, and manages treasury functions. Elisabeth also works as the Head of Task Organization for Emergency Shelter and Care within the Schiedam Crisis Organization, focusing on COVID-19 vaccination and testing sites, refugee support, and crisis emergency setup. Prior roles include positions as a Legal Secretary and Legal Assistant at various law firms, along with earlier experiences in customer service and marketing. Elisabeth holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from De Haagse Hogeschool and has pursued further education through various institutions, including Erasmus University Rotterdam and Bestuursacademie Nederland.
