Maya de Backer

Maya De Backer has extensive experience in public service and social work, currently holding multiple positions since January 2019, including member of the board of directors and the general assembly at Woonzorggroep Voorkempen, as well as various roles within the Gemeente Schoten, such as substitute member of the Special Committee for Social Services and member of the Municipal Council. Additionally, Maya serves as the faction leader for Groen in the municipal council and has leadership roles within Groen Noord- en Voorkempen and Groen Schoten since January 2013. Since September 2021, Maya has also worked as a social worker for the Stad Antwerpen. Maya holds a bachelor's degree in Social Work with a focus on Socio-Cultural Work from Karel de Grote-Hogeschool.
