Johan Simon

Johan Simon has extensive experience in sustainability and education, currently serving as a Beleidsadviseur energietransitie at Gemeente Soest since May 1997, focusing on housing within the energy transition since February 2019. Prior roles at the same municipality included serving as a Beleidsadviseur Natuur- en Milieu Educatie en Milieucommunicatie from 1998, and earlier as a medewerker Natuur- en milieueducatie. In the educational sector, Johan was a Docent aardrijkskunde at VSO Axia College from January 2012 to February 2019, where Johan taught high-IQ students with autism spectrum disorders, and previously instructed geography classes at CSG de Breul in 1996. Johan began a career in nature and environmental education with the Gemeente Zeist and earlier positions involved project organization and execution related to environmental education. Johan holds a degree in Fysische Geografie from Utrecht University, obtained in 1992.
