Erwin Nijhuis

Erwin Nijhuis is a seasoned legal expert specializing in environmental law and enforcement law, with a career spanning over three decades in various municipalities and freelance roles. Currently, Erwin serves as a freelance jurist in environmental law at Gemeente Lochem since February 2023. Since 2001, Erwin has held the position of legal advisor at Gemeente Twenterand, transitioning to part-time in 2018, while also managing a freelance legal consultancy focused on environmental law since 2008. Erwin's extensive experience includes chairing various appeals committees for municipalities such as Gemeente Berkelland and Gemeente Oost Gelre, along with roles in implementing environmental legislation and providing legal quality assurance. Erwin holds a master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Twente, completed in 1992.
