Miriam van Ooijen

Miriam van Ooijen has extensive experience in the field of social development and education, currently serving as the Afdelingshoofd maatschappelijke ontwikkeling at Gemeente Voerendaal since May 2009. In this role, Miriam leads projects focused on transforming the social domain, facilitating the responsible decentralization of national and provincial tasks related to care, youth, work, and guidance. Additionally, Miriam acts as an advisor and project leader in education, youth, and sports policy within the municipality, navigating dynamic policy areas. Prior experience includes serving as an onderwijsadviseur at Consent, where Miriam supported teachers and childcare providers, and led the merger and professionalization of kindergartens in the municipality of Gulpen-Wittem. Miriam holds degrees in education from Fontys University of Applied Sciences and Zuyd University of Applied Sciences, as well as a WSET Level 3 certification in wine from Wijnstudio.
