Lawrence Aalders

Lawrence Aalders is an experienced sustainability policy advisor currently working as a Beleidsmedewerker Duurzame Mobiliteit at Gemeente Westerkwartier since December 2022. Previously, Lawrence served as a Beleidsmedewerker Duurzaamheid at BVNG, contributing to various municipalities in the Groningen/Drenthe region from September 2021 to October 2024, and held roles at Gemeente Aa en Hunze and Gemeente Midden-Drenthe focusing on sustainable mobility and related projects. Lawrence began the career in sustainability during a 2021 internship at Gemeente Westerkwartier, which was supported by an MSc in Energy and Environmental Sciences from the University of Groningen. Lawrence also possesses a background in biology, having completed multiple degrees at the University of Groningen. Earlier work experience includes roles in food service and retail.
