David Clifford

David Clifford has a diverse work experience. David is currently serving as the Director of Finance - Mining Operations at Gemfields Group since April 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the Group Finance Controller at Bacanora Lithium starting from June 2018. David also worked as the Financial Controller at ArcelorMittal from October 2017 to June 2018. Additionally, they held the role of FP&A Manager at Gemfields Plc from November 2014 to October 2017. Before that, they worked at Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation PLC as a Senior business improvement specialist from March 2014 to November 2014 and as a Business Analyst - Strategic planning and investment analysis from February 2012 to March 2014. David also gained experience at Anglo American, where they served as the Operations and logistics analysis manager from June 2009 to February 2012 and as the Operations Manager from July 2006 to June 2009.

David Clifford completed their education in a chronological order. David pursued a Master of Geology degree from the University of Leicester, graduating in 2003. Following this, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in 2006 from the University of Southampton, with a focus on the spatial distribution of elements in volcanic arcs. From 2013 to 2015, David attended The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and earned their degree as a Chartered Accountant, specializing in finance.
