Christy Ricardo

Christy Ricardo is a seasoned systems engineer currently serving as System Engineer II at Gemini Observatory, where responsibilities include leading multiple development projects such as the Gemini Planet Imager 2.0 Instrument Upgrade and the Ground Layer Adaptive Secondary System Development. Prior experience includes roles as a Remote Observer at Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope Corporation, where Christy operated a 3.6m telescope, and as a Science Operations Specialist at Gemini Observatory. Additional expertise includes working as an Optical Systems Engineer at Areté Associates, where Christy developed remote sensing instruments, and serving as an Astrophysicist at the Smithsonian Institution, focusing on enhancements in telescope productivity. Christy holds a Master's Degree in Applied Physics from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor's in Physics & Astronomy from Northern Arizona University.
