Mislav Cimperšak has an extensive work experience. Mislav began their career in 2007 as a Project Associate and Web Developer at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, where they also assisted students with courses such as Text and Language Modeling, Computer Networks, Information Retrieval, and Natural Language Processing. Mislav wrote several scientific papers in the NLP field and presented them on local and international conferences. In 2011, they became a Senior IT Adviser at The Miroslav Krleža Institute of Lexicography, where they worked as a Django backend developer and assisted with regular maintenance and feature upgrades of existing C# web applications and server administration. Mislav was also the main developer of the company’s website, which won the national best website award in its category in 2011. In 2013, they joined Styria Digital Services as a Team Lead/Senior Web Developer. During their time there, they initiated and applied organization-wide initiatives for mandatory unit tests and mandatory code reviews for all newly written code. Mislav worked as the lead developer or part of the team for several of the top regional news portals. In 2018, they became the Lead Developer at an Undisclosed Cryptocurrency Startup with Amatus GmbH, where they were responsible for leading a fully remote team of all senior developers and designing the system architecture. Mislav managed and designed the system using Terraform on AWS, making full use of best CI/CD practices and aiming at running continuous deployment. Mislav also became Owner of Solvomon in 2018. Currently, Mislav Cimperšak is the Director of Engineering at Gencove, where they are leading a team of engineers with different roles, from backend and frontend engineers to data engineers and bioinformaticians. Mislav is working closely with Product on planning and defining the future of Gencove services, and is hiring at a steady rate of several engineers per quarter.

Mislav Cimperšak obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Information Science & Philosophy from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in 2009. Mislav then went on to obtain their Master's Degree in Information Sciences from the same faculty in 2011. Prior to that, they attended Gimnazija A.G. Matoša Zabok from 2001 to 2005.
