Aurelia Carter

Aurelia Carter has extensive experience in roles focused on family support and advocacy within the disability community. Currently serving as the OBH Family Support Supervisor at DCM/Allegheny County DHS since July 2017, and as a Direct Support Professional at GENE COOK SUPPORTS, LLC since September 2020, Aurelia is dedicated to empowering minority caregivers and individuals with disabilities. Previous positions include the Family Support Specialist at Great Lakes/Dept Human Services and the Caregiver/Consumer Involvement Consultant at MultiCultural Disability Leadership Center. Additionally, Aurelia has contributed as a Parent Mobilizer for the Education Rights Network and held roles in community engagement and technical assistance. Aurelia's educational background includes studies at the Community College of Allegheny County and Gateway Technical Institute.
