Christopher Gowey, B. ENG (Hons), PMP, PE, MEng, has extensive experience in engineering and project management. Christopher began their career in 2002 as a Machinist for the Port Authority of Jamaica. In 2007, they moved to the Sugar Company of Jamaica (Bernard Lodge) as a Mechanical Engineer, and they also worked as a University Lecturer at the Caribbean Maritime University. In 2009, they were a Mechanical Engineer at Jamalco, where they were responsible for Capex project development for bauxite mining and alumina refinery operations, as well as hydraulic system design and stress analysis. In 2010, they began working for the Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard as a Mechanical Engineer Manager, where they were responsible for the operation and maintenance of all marine propulsion, power generation and distribution, ship's auxiliary, service and machinery control systems, and reinforcing compliance with Health & Safety regulations. In 2021, they joined Genecis Bioindustries Inc. as a Snr Reliability Engineer.
Christopher Gowey obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Technology, Jamaica in 2007. In 2011, they obtained an Associate's degree in Officer In Charge of Navigational Watch from the Caribbean Maritime University. In 2019, they completed a Certificate of Completion in Maritime Studies from DNV GL Training. In 2021, they obtained Verified International Academic Qualifications from World Education Services. Additionally, they hold PMP, PE, and MEng certifications.
