Andrew Wood has been in the finance industry for over 30 years, beginning their career in 1986 as Finance Director for Hull & Grimsby Newspapers Ltd, a daily and weekly newspaper publisher. In 1989, they became Chief Accountant for Burton Group - Retail Distribution Division, a leading high street retailer. In 1992, they moved to Yorkshire Cable Group Ltd as Finance Director. In 1996, they joined Oxford BioMedica plc as Chief Financial Officer, where they managed significant fundraising and led a successful acquisition and integration of Oxxon Therapeutics. In 2012, they became a Consultant for AW Consulting and a Member of the Finance and Tax Advisory Committee for the BioIndustry Association. Additionally, they were a Chief Financial Officer for MitoDys Ltd, Micrima Limited, and LIF Nano Rx Ltd. In each of these roles, they were responsible for accounting, tax, and company secretarial matters, providing management and board level support, and managing grant funded programmes.
Andrew Wood attended St Catherine's College, University of Oxford from 1977 to 1981, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) 1st class in Biochemistry.
